1) Tell us your story: Who are you, and what inspired you to start your Substack?
My name is Salwa, and I’m a single mother to two beautiful boys, a psychology student, and someone deeply invested in exploring mental health, growth, self-discovery, and the psychology behind it all. I started Quietly Becoming as a way to reflect on my own journey—through the ups and downs of life, navigating mental health, raising my children, and embracing the quiet, messy process of becoming who we are meant to be.
For me, writing has always been a space of healing and connection. I wanted to create a place where I could share my reflections and learnings in a way that feels personal yet relatable. Quietly becoming isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about the beauty in learning, unlearning, and growing. I hope that by sharing my experiences and thoughts, others might feel less alone in their journeys and find small moments of inspiration.
